It is a bit hard to see in this small image, however, this one at full size really has that cartoony, gritty look which is that HDR effect.

Sunday, March 28th, 2010Today my new 85mm, 1.4 Canon lens arrived. I was excited to get the lens and took it around the yard capturing many images to see what it could do. I am very happy with the results and enjoy making artistic looking images our of ordinary items.

At this moment I was taking a picture of the sunset through the trees and wasn’t happy with my results and decided to go to manual focus and see what I could do. I like the blurred version much better ans so here it is.

Art Or Not Art, You Decide. (day 58)
Saturday, February 27th, 2010What makes art? That is the age old question. I remember in high school arguing with my humanities instructor over what art was. He didn’t think anything in the video realm could be considered art, yet preached to us that art was in the eye of the beholder. So for me, video was art, hehe. In the image below I took a somewhat ordinary snapshot of the wife, cropped it so only a portion of her face was showing, turned it gray-scale and enhanced the blur effect of the depth of field and I think have created a very attractive work of art. What is your vote?
