Very Magical! (day 67)

March 8, 2010 by David

I asked one of the grounds crew while we were at Disney World what was in the magic kingdom, maybe the corporate offices?  It turns out nothing is in there, it is just a fake shell, not even a real building.  What a bummer!!

It isn't even real. :(

Did I Capture The Killer, Killer Whale? (day 66)

March 7, 2010 by David

I had the opportunity to take an aerial image of Sea World and thought I have captured an image of Shamoo, although now I am wondering if maybe I caught a killer.  Well, yes I did catch a killer whale, but I mean the real killer. You know the killer whale who is a killer.  Well I guess they all are killers, but I mean the one who actually is a killer.  Hmm, this isn’t going very well….

Was this the killer?

Circ De Soleil, Alcohol, & Food. (day 65)

March 6, 2010 by David

I was at a conference in Vegas a few years back and the company hosting the conference put on a huge party where they brought in Circ De Soleil to perform while we ate dinner and frequented the open bar!  It was a a very cool and interesting evening, then they announced the company had been sold to SUN and basically said good luck with support, hahahaha, we are going to Disney World!

Another Sunset Image. (day 62)

March 3, 2010 by David

Once in a while I veer off the technical side of life and have a bit of inspired creativity.  At this moment I was taking a picture of the sunset through the trees and wasn’t happy with my results and decided to go to manual focus and see what I could do.  I like the blurred version much better ans so here it is.

Icicles = Spring! (day 61)

March 2, 2010 by David

I love it when the days start warming and the snow on the roof begins to melt away.  Sunset is always a fun time to walk around with the camera, put those two item together and here is what you get.

Lines, They Taunt Me… (day 60)

March 1, 2010 by David

If you have been following my blog you will notice I have a thing for seeing lines everywhere, um I also see faces everywhere as well, but haven’t started documenting those yet.  This was a day I was out at Minnehaha Park again and saw lines, had to stop what I was doing and take a picture.  Why?  I am not sure.  It wasn’t going to be used for anything in particular, I was just compelled to take the image.  I guess since I used it here there was a purpose after all!

I almost wanted to count them!

Over Used, Under Appreciated. (day 59)

February 28, 2010 by David

I have shot now many times at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis.  There is a very distinctive looking trellis are on one side of the falls.  When I first discovered this I thought I had found a cool backdrop for photography, in fact I had.  Although, since then I have seen a multitude of images, mostly model portfolios which are using the same location.  I will continue to use this location myself, however there is so much going on here and so many angles and lines to take advantage of no longer will I be shooting down the throat of this park hoe.  Instead we will progress to much more “advanced” positions.

Art Or Not Art, You Decide. (day 58)

February 27, 2010 by David

What makes art?  That is the age old question.  I remember in high school arguing with my humanities instructor over what art was.  He didn’t think anything in the video realm could be considered art, yet preached to us that art was in the eye of the beholder.  So for me, video was art, hehe.  In the image below I took a somewhat ordinary snapshot of the wife, cropped it so only a portion of her face was showing, turned it gray-scale and enhanced the blur effect of the depth of field and I think have created a very attractive work of art.   What is your vote?

A crop and a tweak make art.
