| The Headshot. It is your first impression! Your image is the best representation of your brand and we strive to capture you at your absolute best. No matter what style of headshot, Modeling, Corporate, Acting, or Character – we have shot them all and will work with you to achieve exactly what you need. |
The Modeling Headshot. The elegant style and grace of a modeling headshot is featured in the slideshow above. I shoot the modeling headshot in a horizontal plain, leaving ample negative space to add drama and crop to lead the viewer to your eyes. As well as a traditional look, I will ask you to remove earrings, wear a strapless top and use a natural make-up palette to remove distractions from the simple beauty and grace of your face. Along with the traditional non-smile model-mouth, we will attempt to bring out your vast emotions and expressions. |
The Actor or Character Headshot. Wonderful, dramatic images compose an actor’s headshot. If you have a specific part in mind which we are shooting for, then it is all about being a character. In that case we will match the wardrobe, lighting, props, and staging to the desired character.![]() |
1) Find a photographer you are comfortable with. When shooting headshots you need to be at ease, have fun, let any emotional baggage go and have a great rapport with the photographer.
2) Communicate and take direction. If you have an idea, vision, or certain expectation – share it. The other half of sharing is listening. Listen and follow the direction of the photographer to find the perfect angles, look, pose to enhance your best features.
3) Be prepared physically and mentally. If you are out late the night before and show up with no sleep, don’t then wonder why you have huge bags under your bloodshot eyes and your skin is pale and ashy. Get plenty of rest, be hydrated, be fresh, clean and ready to go. The same is true of your mental state. I want you jazzed, happy, excited to be there.
4) It’s about you, not the clothes. The clothes should be used to assist you in achieving that extra something, so bring a variety of items which invoke emotions in you. Items you are comfortable wearing.
5) Show your range. You have more than one look, one expression, one emotion, let’s capture as much of your range as possible. Practice in front of a mirror before you come.
6) If it’s not fun, don’t do it. In order for get the best images possible we have to have fun with it. If you take yourself too seriously, or are expecting to leave with only the “Zoolander” look then I might not be the photographer for you!
