Adeola and her brother Tommy met us at the Minnesota State Fair grounds with traditional Nigerian outfits. We trekked through the grounds and found several very colorful buildings which presented perfect backdrops for the shoot.

We met Ally at a park in St. Cloud on one of the coldest days in October on record! Between the ripping wind and my shivering it is amazing we got any shots at all. We improvised and made the back seat of our truck into a studio and did what we could.

Krystal is one of my favorite models, she is also a family friend. She is so patient and let's me pose her this way and that, never complaining. She has seen me struggle to try and figure out what is wrong and just keeps coming back for more. These shots were from our first attempt with some new gear I had just gotten. I was playing with the ISO, you can tell in some of these from the level of noise. Even so, we still got some fun shots.

This time around I put Krystal through the ringer. Several formal dress changes, different make-up, different locations, and then body paint. Out of all our sessions some of the images that came out of this one are my favorite to date. I love the body paint, it came out so vibrant along with her bright green eyes, simply stunning!

Virgil is 93 years old. She still lives by herself, although does have family nearby. She can tell stories for hours. One of her favorites is about her stint as a Minneapolis bus driver and how she was the first female bus driver for the city of Minneapolis.
